From the very beginning, Pensiunea Dacica set out to be not just an accommodation unit, but a cultural hub, a meeting place for those who love history and want to experience it live, but also a setting for various artistic events.
In 2016 we initiated a series of events called TreKulture Mix, with an original format that includes hikes, guided visits to historical sites, gastronomic experiments, film screenings and, as a climax, concerts by well-known jazz, blues, folk or rock artists, which take part in the program of the event for a whole weekend together with a small group of guests. The ingredients are different every time and the program is flexible, sketched in advance but adapted on the spot according to the weather and the preferences of the participants.
Another recurring event is the Red Stone Dacian Citadel Day, which we celebrate on the last weekend in August, and which includes presentations and conferences, a guided tour of the citadel, ancient craft workshops, a book fair, and other activities, and ends with a meal prepared according to 2000-year-old recipes, which includes both Dacian and Roman, Greek or Celtic dishes. The event, organized in collaboration with Dacica Foundation, is offered free of charge to participants.
Easter holidays, Christmas and New Year's are other occasions to organize diversified programs, which include folklore traditions, live music, hikes to the natural sites of Grădiștea-Muncelului-Cioclovina Natural Park and visits to Dacian fortresses and other historical sites.
In addition to the events organized by us, the guesthouse hosts workshops, camps, retreats, team-buildings, and other events, to which it contributes with specific activities.
